Welcome

Welcome to the Archbishop Blanch School Direct Partnership.

The Archbishop Blanch School Direct programme is delivered in partnership with Liverpool John Moores University offering a range of Secondary subjects. The training lasts for one academic year (September to July) and on completion of your training year you will be awarded a PGCE with Qualified teacher Status (QTS)

The programme combines classroom practice and a mixture of school and university led training. The majority of your training year will be based in your designated school, allowing you to develop your teaching skills whilst working along experienced staff in your chosen field.

Applications for September 2023 open to view and are now being accepted

Starting with a University based summer school during August 2021, you will begin your training in your designated school at the beginning of the academic year. The programme will consist of school based training and centre-based training days with one day a week attendance at Liverpool John Moores University. You will train across at least two high quality school placements.

School Direct is an innovative initiative which enables Archbishop Blanch to take the lead in providing initial teacher training (ITT) courses in collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University.

At the Archbishop Blanch School Direct Partnership in Liverpool, we create an environment which allows all learners to flourish by providing outstanding teaching and learning experiences.

Key features of the Archbishop Blanch School Direct offer include:

  • Commitment to support you into your NQT year and beyond.
  • PGCE programme with Master’s level credits in conjunction with our partner university LJMU.
  • Personalised training programme, including sessions at university, Archbishop Blanch and at your placement school.

 A CARING CHRISTIAN ENVIRONMENT

"Our two daughters have had the best start in life thanks to the caring, enthusiastic and hardworking staff of Archbishop Blanch School. Choosing the right secondary school for one's children is such a difficult task, but we could feel the special ethos of ABS on our first visit. You inspire your pupils to achieve the academic heights of which they are capable in a happy, safe and vibrant environment."
Archbishop Blanch Parent.
