At Archbishop Blanch, we are immensely proud of the successful destinations our students.  

During a Challenge Partners inspection in November 2024, inspectors noted: 

“The support and guidance that students receive at Archbishop Blanch can only be described as nothing short of phenomenal! A vast programme of events and activities ensures that students are given every opportunity to explore the world of education or work for when they leave the school, and they are fully prepared for whichever destination they choose.” 

KS4 Leavers – Post-16 Destinations 

  • In 2024, 98.9% of our students secured positive destinations. 
  • In 2023, we achieved an exceptional 99% sustained destination rate. 

A detailed breakdown of destinations for students leaving at age 16 is provided below. 

KS5 – Post-18 Destinations 

  • Since 2020, the number of students progressing to Russell Group universities has increased by 16%. 
  • In 2023, our destination success rate exceeded the national average by 18%. 
  • In 2024, many students secured prestigious degree apprenticeships in sectors such as biomedical sciences, law, policing, business, and healthcare. 

Careers Highlights – 2023/24 

  • Awarded the Excellence Award for Careers by Challenge Partners in 2024. 
  • Hosted 25 ‘Meet the Professionals’ events during the 2023/24 academic year, engaging over 400 students from Years 7 to 13. 
  • Year 13 students won a National Law Competition through Hill Dickinson, focused on enhancing understanding of legal careers. 
  • The entire Year 12 cohort attended the National Apprenticeship Fair. 
  • ‘Revise to 5’ – A dedicated careers information session for Year 11 parents. 
  • Delivered a Careers Fair featuring 90 exhibitors from leading employers, training providers, and both FE and HE institutions. 
  • Launched our first-ever SEND Careers Fair, offering tailored careers advice and guidance specifically for parents and SEND students. 
  • Year 12 attended the UCAS fair  

 

  • All year 12 students secured work experience places
