Visit of the Speaker of the House of Commons, Rt Hon John Bercow, MP & Luciana Berger, MP

On Friday, 20th May, 2016, Archbishop Blanch was honoured to host a visit of the Speaker of the House of Commons, the Rt Hon John Bercow, MP, and Luciana Berger, MP for Liverpool Wavertree. Mr Speaker and Ms Berger were given a tour of the school and then met with the Head Girl, her deputies and other members of the student council. Students were able to ask questions of the two MPs around a variety of current topics including the forthcoming Referendum on the European Union and the significance of the American Presidential campaigns to the current European political landscape.

The students found the visit  engaging, informative and full of good humour. As Head Girl Caitlin said, "It's not everyday you get the Speaker of the House popping in to you student council meeting!"

A Caring Christian Environment

"Our two daughters have had the best start in life thanks to the caring, enthusiastic and hardworking staff of Archbishop Blanch School. Choosing the right secondary school for one's children is such a difficult task, but we could feel the special ethos of ABS on our first visit. You inspire your pupils to achieve the academic heights of which they are capable in a happy, safe and vibrant environment."
