On Tuesday the 2nd of October a group of year 10 students attended the ‘Make it’ in Manufacturing, grand final at the Concord Conference center in Manchester. Our brief at the competition was to design a plane that was very efficient, we had to identify suitable materials to make a plane and plan a flight plan to test it. We also had to make a piece of machinery that would help transport the pieces, that would make the plane, around the manufacturing hanger. Sadly we did not succeed in claiming first place at the competition but the team who won did deserve to as they considered people in our society who are anxious about flying and people who are disabled, they designed a plane that would help these people fly more easily and so they could feel calmer about flying. We all gained more knowledge and experience from this competition about working in a manufacturing role and we had lots of fun.
