Geography outside of the classroom bringing geography to life.
Year 7’s enjoyed taking part in a microclimate investigation around the school grounds. They made their own equipment to test for Wind speed as well as using thermometers and the Beaufort scale to test their hypothesis. They gained valuable skills that they can use in the future geography lessons.
On Tuesday the 19th & Wednesday the 20th of June our year 10 geographers enjoyed two days of fieldwork investigation. The first being a day at the River Alyn here they got to put theory into practice looking at how a river changes along its course, giving them a sense of place as well as being able to see changes and why they might happen. On the second day they visited Chester city centre here they put their questioning skills to good use to establish if the transport strategy in Chester has or has not been successful.
