On Friday 29th January, instead of being held in the Anglican Cathedral, The Educate Awards ceremony was broadcast live on YouTube.
Due to COVID-19, the event had to take on a different format this year and following the successful broadcast of the shortlist announcement, when the school received two nominations, the winners were then revealed via a live stream.
Although the physical event with the sit-down dinner and the glittering ceremony didn’t take place, the team at the Educate Awards worked extremely hard to ensure that some elements remained the same, with a hybrid of physical and virtual elements.
In a venue where social distancing can be adhered to, broadcaster Simon Ross presented the awards and one representative from each sponsor announced the winners, connecting with each school to get a live reaction.
We were extremely proud to receive awards in both categories:
Runner up - Most Inspirational Secondary school
Winners - Leadership Team of the Year
