On Thursday, 12 March Lauren Mitchell and Mary Hubbard competed in Hugh Baird's 'Eat my Words' competition. The overall day consisted of producing a three course meal which had to be presented to a panel of judges, who were all experienced chefs.
Altogether three different schools competed to win the five prizes available and, supported by Miss O'Shea and June Stevenson from Archbishop Blanch's Design Technology Department, our pupils took home three of the five titles available. Mary Hubbard achieved two awards for 'Best starter' and 'Best main' and Lauren Mitchell took home the award for 'Best article'.
The pupils really enjoyed the day and are looking forward to using the skills and techniques gained as part of this competition in their GCSE Food Technology course.
"Our two daughters have had the best start in life thanks to the caring, enthusiastic and hardworking staff of Archbishop Blanch School.
