50 Summers of Love

To celebrate Liverpool’s contribution to the 1967 Summer of Love, students from Archbishop Blanch have been involved in a number of performance related activities. ABS Performance was extremely proud to host MDI’s 50 Summers of Love schools showcase, which enabled around 100 students from schools and colleges across the city to come together to give an evening’s performance of live dance, set to songs released in 1967. The evening was a huge success and gave our GCSE and A Level Dance students a fantastic opportunity to perform. As a result of hosting the showcase our students were invited to attend the live premiere of the Mark Morris Dance Company’s ‘Pepperland’ at Liverpool’s Royal Court, which was specially commissioned for the 50 Summers of Love programme. We were also extremely delighted to welcome company dancers into our school, who led class and taught repertoire from the new dance work.

A Caring Christian Environment

"Our two daughters have had the best start in life thanks to the caring, enthusiastic and hardworking staff of Archbishop Blanch School. Choosing the right secondary school for one's children is such a difficult task, but we could feel the special ethos of ABS on our first visit. You inspire your pupils to achieve the academic heights of which they are capable in a happy, safe and vibrant environment."
