Key Stage 4 Curriculum (Year 10 & 11)

Archbishop Blanch School’s Key Stage 4 curriculum is planned and sequenced so that new knowledge and skills build on what has already been taught in the broad and varied Key Stage 3 model. Pupils are able to study a strong academic core of subjects that promote ambition and raise aspirations.

Whilst delivering a comprehensive model, the students also have opportunity to access an all-inclusive supporting curriculum, which prepares students for life outside of the classroom.

The curriculum is taught in 25 lessons each week, each lesson lasting 60 minutes.

Alternative Pathways to GCSE
In some years, for those pupils for whom GCSE’s are not appropriate, a mixture of Functional Skills, extra literacy and numeracy and Prince’s Trust programme is offered.

Choosing the right secondary school for one's children is such a difficult task, but we could feel the special ethos of ABS on our first visit. You inspire your pupils to achieve the academic heights of which they are capable in a happy, safe and vibrant environment."
