Archbishop Blanch School has Technology College status and
our aim and initiatives are to:
- Raise standards of achievement, particularly in the specialist subjects, for all our pupils
- Extend the range of opportunities available to students that best meet their
needs and interests
- Raise the standards of teaching and learning of technology*, science and
mathematics
Develop within the school characteristics which signal our
changed
identity and which are reflected in the school’s aims. This new identity will
be made clear to other schools by developing and strengthening links with local
primary and secondary schools, the local community and private/charitable sector
sponsors.
The logo signifies in separate, but interlocking images, the
breadth and unity of Science and Technology. The separate images represent the
following:
The Ellipse: An electron ring (and planetary motion)
The Blocked Part Circle: A mechanism, motion
The Parts of the Concentric Circle: Radar
The Triangle: A diagramatic representation of a
vector quantity and the onward
thrust of Science
